We count pages, not people.

This site counts page views with a small collector we run ourselves, not a third-party analytics product. It answers “what is being read” and is built so that it cannot tell who is reading.

What is counted

• The page you opened, from a fixed list of the site's pages. Anything else is counted as “other”.
• A coarse device class: desktop, mobile, tablet or bot.
• When another site sends you here, that site's domain, never the full address. Our own pages cannot supply this.

Each view adds one to a few daily totals: all views, views of that page, views from that device class. No record of an individual visit is written.

What is never stored

• No analytics cookie, local storage or other storage in your browser.
• No visitor, session or device identifier of any kind.
• No IP address, and no country, region, city or location.
• No unique visitors, sessions or time on page.
• No advertising identifiers. Nothing is shared with anyone.

How it is counted

Every page on this site loads with no JavaScript. Each one carries a single transparent image, one pixel square, and fetching it adds to the totals above. It is the same mechanism as any other image on the page, not a tracking script.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of any kind.

The skill and the compiler

The Lede skill is a text file, and the compiler and command-line tool run on your machine. They collect nothing, send nothing anywhere and make no network requests of their own. The pages they write contain no script and fetch nothing from elsewhere unless you pass --allow-remote.

Retention

The daily totals are deleted automatically after 400 days.
